What Is It?
The 12-case CS diagnostic assessment is a quick & efficient way to learn whether or not you’re likely to pass your Step 2 CS exam. You will get on a video chat with one of our CS instructors and we will go through 12 CS cases together in an exam-like setting (includes patient note), at which point we will critique each aspect of your performance, give your performance an overall grade, and provide you with detailed feedback based on a list of over 100+ encounter criteria.
Following completion of the 12 diagnostic cases, we will provide you with an assessment of whether you have the skills (CIS, ICE, SEP) needed to pass the CS exam. If you have areas that need improvement, we will outline each one and provide you with a step-by-step plan for ensuring they are improved to the point of excellence.
The 12-case assessment will last approximately 7-8hrs and the exam is broken down like this: 1) Performance of 3 cases 2) 10-minute break 3) Performance of 3 cases 4) 30-minute break 5) Performance of 3 cases 6) 10-minute break 7) Performance of final 3 cases.
What To Expect During The Encounter:
Information Gathering
Before beginning, we will briefly explain how the exam will be performed and ensure that you have properly setup your patient note portal. We will answer any questions you have about the exam prior to starting.
12 Case Exam
Through our virtual classroom, you will perform a full case with one of our CS expert insutructors acting as the SP. You will perform each component of the encounter as well as the patient note. Following completion of the case, we will grade and assess your performance based on a list of 100+ post-encounter feedback questions. We will also grade your patient note and provide detailed feedback.You won’t receive your final grade & case-specific feedback until all cases have been completed.
Final Grade + Detailed Feedback
Following completion of your final case, we will present you with a final grade, an assessment of your performance in each exam sub-component (CIS, ICE, & SEP), as well as provide you with a list of areas requiring your attention (if necessary).
Discussion Period & Recommendations
Following presentation of your final grade & exam component breakdown, you can ask us any questions you have about your assessment exam results. We will also present you with our recommendations for improvement (if needed) based on your performance.
